Judah Bellamy and Shaylin Becton have joined the Broadway company of the hit musical The Lion King as Young Simba and Young Nala respectively. Bellamy and Becton began performances on March 29 at the Minskoff Theatre.
The Lion King marks the Broadway debut for both performers. They will alternate the roles with Alphonso Romero Jones II and Khail Toi Bryant. The production also currently stars Dashaun Young as Simba, Chauntee Schuler as Nala, Gareth Saxe as Scar, Alton Fitzgerald White as Mufasa, Tshidi Manye as Rafiki, Ben Jeffrey as Pumbaa, Fred Berman as Timon and Cameron Pow as Zazu.
The Lion King opened on Broadway at the New Amsterdam Theatre on November 13, 1997. The production received six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and moved to the Minskoff Theatre in 2006.
